I was asked to come up with a design for the 2017/18 International Woolmark Prize. For the form I took my cue from the classic mobius strip style Woolmark logo and aimed to create a form that moved and changed somewhat perplexingly based on the angle it is viewed at. Part of the brief was that the design should use environmentally responsible materials so worked with Sydney based Vert design who have developed a plastic made from waste plastics harvested from Australian and Pacific Island beaches. This unique material has an amazing natural, organic and varied paternation to it that makes it beautiful and rarified.
I was also asked to produce an image to printed on banners at the event itself. I wanted to create something that was simple, beautiful and felt very tactile.
